The Wardrobe

The Wardrobe is a ‘gently used’ clothing store located at 715 Park Avenue here in Columbia. The Wardrobe is very generous to in2Action and works so kindly with our gentlemen. Our gents have some specific needs in the way of work clothing and basic clothing as they are often released from correctional facilities with just the clothing they wear out of the facility. And the folks at The Wardrobe realize this and help us if they are able.

One of the people who go out of their way to make our gentlemen feel welcome is Sherry. She has been a major volunteer for some time now and she is so generous with her time and care. We try to go when she is there.
The Wardrobe was started in 1969 because of a need seen in the community. They built the current facility to their specifications and moved there in 1970. They certainly meet the needs of many in the community and if you have not donated to them, volunteered for them or seen the facility please stop by. They do such good work throughout the greater Columbia area. And they would love to see you.

One of their important activities is the twice a year ‘shoe voucher’ program. Two times a year parents who are referred to the Wardrobe through various agencies, are allowed to purchase 2 vouchers per child for shoes. These shoe vouchers cost $4.00 each. These vouchers can be redeemed at Shoe Carnival for shoes up to $35.00/pair. The Wardrobe then reimburses Shoe Carnival for the difference. (It used to be Payless but with Payless leaving town, Shoe Carnival has agreed to the same arrangement.)
Again, we say Thank You to The Wardrobe and look forward to continuing our partnership!
